On December 11, the Innovation and Cooperation of Biotechnology Industry Chain Forum, jointly hosted by Hybribio and Fortune Capital, was held in Chaozhou, with the participation of academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, famous economists, hospital experts, as well as representatives from universities, investment institutions, top listed companies and innovative enterprises.

Nowadays, the biotechnology industry is experiencing a new wave of the industrial revolution. Many developed countries have put the biotechnology industry in a priority position for development. In China, biotechnology research is booming, and technological innovation keeps making breakthroughs. Biotechnology has become the main direction of China's strategic emerging industries, which is a significant initiative for China to grasp the strategic opportunity of the new technological revolution and build an innovative country in the 21st century, and a new driving force for China's economic growth.

Challenges and Opportunities in Biotechnology Industry

"Biotechnology industry faces both rare opportunities and severe challenges. Looking at the international situation, a new round of global scientific and technological revolution and industrial change is accelerating, and the biomedical industry needs to be taken as a strategic must-compete area where planning, deployment and policy support needs to be strengthened." Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former President of the University of Hong Kong, Mr. Yaozong Zheng, emphasized at the meeting that biomedicine is a strategic high-tech industry that concerns the people's livelihood, and the transformation of technological innovation and results is of great significance in promoting the integrated development of research and production and China's biotechnology industry.

Benzhong Tang, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a member of The World Academy of Sciences, pointed out, "The outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic has brought tremendous impact on various countries, industries and people's daily lives around the world, bringing unprecedented challenges to the biotechnology industry, speeding up the development of the sector and putting forward higher requirements for biotechnology development, which is believed to be the same in the next decade. "

Human health should be the center of industry development

In his speech, Tie Song, vice mayor of the People's Government of Chaozhou Municipality, said that the world currently undergoes significant developments, changes, and adjustments. We should insist on combining the traditional and emerging ways in the new scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. At the same time, we should promote traditional industries and the clustering and chain development of emerging industries. We hope that academicians, experts, and scholars will do their best to introduce the domestic and international cutting-edge biotechnology resources to Chaozhou, share technical experience, build a development platform and promote the transformation of results so that biotechnology and bio-industry can better benefit humankind.

Xiaoqian Yu, executive vice president and secretary-general of China Maternal and Child Health Association, said: the continuous development, transformation, and application of modern biotechnology, has played a considerable role in promoting the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of modern medicine. As one of the first outstanding Chinese enterprises in the biotechnology industry that have successfully industrialized scientific and technological achievements since the 21st century, Hybribio has contributed to the development of biotechnology industrialization in China in a forward-looking and leading way. We hope that Hybribio will continue to head for new peaks of biotechnology and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

In his speech, Mr. K.C.Kun, founder and president of Hybribio, introduced the trajectory of Hybribio's 20 years of survival, development and leap forward progress. The participants interpreted the cutting-edge development direction,  opportunities and trends of the biotechnology industry multi-dimensionally, and discussed the topical issues of the industry through conference reports, special academic sessions, special sessions of investment institutions and industry benchmark enterprises/projects, which provides new directions and new ideas for innovation, development and industrial chain construction in the biotechnology industry, and promotes the biotechnology industry towards high-quality development.
